Bangalore University is promoting holding of research symposia/seminars/workshops of national and international level so that advance research culture in the Departments is possible. In the past 5 years, it has organized about eighty four conferences/seminars/workshops/annual meetings of the Indian National Science Congress.
The consultancy services that are offered by the PG departments are largely informal. In addition, several departments like Communications, Psychology, Environmental Sci, Eng, Computer Application and Geology provide certificate courses.
Bangalore University was founded on July 10 1964 as a federal university. Its jurisdiction was extended to the greater Bangalore city. Initially it was built around 2 leading centers of education the central college and the University of Vishvesarya College of engineering.
From the year 1997, all the Medical Dental Pharmacy Nursing Homoeopathic Unani Aerospace Medicine Mental Health & Neuro Science faculty have been transferred to RGUHS. From the year 1998, all the Engineering colleges have been transferred to VTU Karnataka.
